Colored 1-bit Food
A downloadable asset pack
This asset pack contains 160 food and drink sprites in a "colored 1-bit" style. They all fit within a 16x16 bounding box, though many of them are slightly smaller.
There are too many to list them all, so here's a quick overview of what's in the pack:
- 10 different crops, each with 5 sprites: seed, stage 1, stage 2, fully grown, and picked food.
- Selection of raw fruits and vegetables.
- Selection of roasted vegatables and mushrooms.
- Cornmeal, flower, sugar.
- Cooked meals: tortillas, burritos, tacos, hot dog, sausage, popcorn, various burgers, pies, bread, toast, egg on toast, beans on toast.
- Dairy: egg, cheese, milk, omelettes, cooked and raw chicken, skewers.
- Bowls: noodles, soups, stews, polenta, polenta marinara.
- Drinks: cans, bottles, coffee, espresso.
- Bottles: water, milk, juice, oil, hot sauce, maple syrup.
What the heck is colored 1-bit?
It's my way of describing this art style. It's an attempt to capture some of the feeling of the ZX Spectrum games I played as a child, but without the graphical limitations of it. So it's kind of like 1-bit in a way, in how the shapes are formed, but there's not restriction in the palette. There's only one rule: that no two colors are allowed to touch. So black is used as a buffer.

Here are some other asset packs that are designed to work well with the Colored 1-bit Food pack:

Do you do commissioned work?
Hey, thanks for getting in touch. I’m not able to take on commissions right now, but just out of interest, what did you have in mind?
Oh, just another pack like this but themed around treasure/knickknacks instead.
You should add the license into metadata for the asset packs:
"Edit asset pack->Metadata->Release Info->License for assets" It will increase the size of audience that will be able to find your art
