"Beep Boop" is a spin off of Beep's Escape, and is inspired VERY heavily by the original arcade version of Bubble Bobble. It consists of 12 levels and one boss fight at the end.

The first version was made in just 5 days for the Pursuing Pixels James Jam Game Gam #2.

How to play

Complete each level by getting rid of all of the enemies. But you can't just jump on enemies. First, stun them with your laser, then you're free to kick them right off the level!

But... don't fire your laser too often, because as your battery runs low your movement speed to badly affected too, making you more vulnerable!

Oh, and collect items for points and power-ups!

Controls

(Player 1) Move: WASD, Fire: Space

(Player 2) Move: Arrows, Fire: M

Note: You can toggle between WASD and ZQSD by pressing "9".

I had a lovely time playing through this (thanks for the unlimited continues), fond memories both from my Speccy days and C64 Bubble Bobble <3

Oh hey, thanks so much for trying it out. I’m so happy it hit the right nostalgia buttons for you, that’s exactly what I’m hoping for when folks play it.

I’ll be releasing an update soon that takes it to a total of 30 levels, with 3 bosses! ☺️

As always you're super inspiring, thank you for making this, this really did remind me the old times as a kid playing Bubble Bobble, haha, good times, Thank you!

super fun

Great game, músic , mechancics, art, congratulations!!!!

nice game, it was a lot of fun to play, I managed to carry over the fire upgrade to the last level and one-shot the ogre XD

Ah, nice, that certainly does make the boss much much easier! :-D

I had planned on power-ups only lasting until the end of a level, but I ran out of time to implement it! But I’m really happy that you enjoyed playing it!

Hey, thank you so much for playing it, and I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed it! I’ve actually added the web version now, so you can play it right on the game page. It doesn’t save progress yet, though it does remember your high score :-)

And there are actually 12 levels now. I added a few more right before the jam deadline, but forgot to update the description!
